IIT Kanpur Alumnus Designs Prosthetic Hand That Can Be Charged Like A Mobile Phone

Life is unpredictable and we often come across people who have lost their hands in some accident or have been amputated. Their life is filled with despair as their daily chores become difficult since doing any work without hands becomes impossible.

But now they need not lose hope and courage as an IIT Kanpur alumnus has designed a prosthetic hand that works like a natural hand. IIT Kanpur alumnus Nishant Agarwal designed a new kind of prosthetic hand with which every work can be done normally and it also looks like a natural hand. This prosthetic hand has been in great demand across the country.

Agarwal during his time at IIT Kanpur from 2015 to 2018 witnessed that life becomes very difficult for people whose hands had to amputated or cut off. To solve this problem, he created this prosthetic hand with the help of the experts from IIT Kanpur.

Nishant Agarwal’s company “The Life & Limb Factory” at IIT Kanpur and experts from IIT Kanpur provided technical support, and together this prosthetic hand was manufactured.

This prosthetic hand works after charging

Just like we charge our smartphone or smart device and use it, similarly this hand also works after charging. If it is put on charging at night, then it will do all your work the next day and you can do all the activities like a normal person.

Price and demand

The Life & Limb Factory founder Nishant Agarwal said “the price of these hands starts from Rs 65,000 and goes up to Rs 5,00,000.” A large number of people across the country are ordering these hands and along with this, big orders are coming from abroad as well.
