Dubai Crown Prince Provides Prosthetics for Young Gazan Amputee

Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed, Crown Prince of Dubai, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defence, has promised to provide prosthetic limbs for a Gazan boy who lost both his legs and his right arm.

Seven-year-old Mohammad Saeed Shaaban's mother posted a video of her son moving around in a Palestinian camp using only one arm. The mother also makes an appearance in the video, expressing her dream that he will be able to walk again.

As part of the Gallant Knight humanitarian operation, the UAE has already set up a centre for amputees at its field hospital in the Gaza Strip to provide prosthetic limbs to Palestinians wounded during the war with Israel.

The Prosthetic Limb Centre aims to support more than 100 wounded Palestinians in a day. Staff at the centre also deliver physical therapy and rehabilitation to those receiving artificial limbs.
