Innovative Exoskeletons Unveiled at Benha University's Physiotherapy Conference

Cosmos Bionics appeared at the Benha University's  first scientific physiotherapy conference titled "Physical Therapy towards Sustainable Health" on 20th to 21st February in Benha, Egypt.

Prof. Walid Talaat, Dean of the Faculty of Physical Therapy and Conference President, stated that the conference aims to develop Physical Therapy practices in line with the Sustainable Development Goals and Egypt's Vision 2030. It seeks to enhance innovative and sustainable healthcare methods to improve care quality, integrate modern technologies and artificial intelligence to enhance Physical Therapy practice, highlight recent evidence, developments, and specialized approaches in Physical Therapy, facilitate knowledge exchange and professional development for Physical Therapy practitioners and students, and empower Physical Therapy students with research opportunities and professional skills for sustainable healthcare.

Additionally, Dr. Aliya Mohamed Al-Abd, Lecturer of Physical Therapy and General Secretary of the Conference, indicated that the conference will include several lectures and scientific research from a select group of deans and professors of Physical Therapy from various Egyptian universities, as well as distinguished workshops led by experts in different fields of Physical Therapy, alongside an exhibition for medical device and pharmaceutical companies. COSMOS are a medical device start-up based in Egypt with the mission of enabling mobility for everyone.

The COSMOS Exoskeleton device is a robotic splint that helps people with weakness or complete paralysis in the muscles of the lower extremities, that they can stand, walk, go up and down stairs, and help the user move independently and in a way that is closer to the natural form of movement.

It is the World’s first lightweight and most accessible robotic exoskeleton to allow individuals with mobility impairments walk again in clinical rehabilitation and comes together with COSMOS Care, a cloud-based mobile app for a personalized and data-driven therapy.

New products developed and produced by Cosmos Bionics were announced at the conference between 20-21st February.

The first robotic KAFO splint to dynamically support the knee joint to help with paraplegia to walk and move completely naturally in their daily lives and at a reasonable cost.
 
This is in addition to the latest version of the Cosmos Exoskeleton device that their ambassador, Mohamed Tawfik, was touring everywhere in the conference and exhibition and he also went to play while standing and went to the restaurant to eat with it, spreading the culture of therapeutic robots among the new generations, the doctors of the future.
 
The Cosmos pavilion received a great and unexpected interest in the conference and many participants, headed by many deans Colleges of Physiotherapy are very interested and impressed by Cosmos technology and products.
