The Bashundhara Kings Arena, the country’s premier football venue, will host the first edition of the AAFC Amputee Football Asian Men's Championship, scheduled to be held on 6-12 February.
A total of six teams from Asia-- Iraq, Iran, Indonesia, Uzbekistan, Nepal and hosts Bangladesh – will compete in the 7-a-side competition.
Bangladesh Amputee Football Association (BAFA) will organize the competition which is an initiative of the Asian Amputee Football Confederation (AAFC).
Bashundhara Group, the country’s largest business conglomerate, will provide all technical support and assistance.
“No one helps us (amputee football) but Bashundhara Group steps forward to support us. You can understand the present condition of the country, but Bashundhara extends their helping hands. We are really grateful to them,” BAFA Vice-President Md Badiuzzaman Al-Amin told the Daily Sun.
“Bashudhara will provide us with technical support and other assistance including the transportation facilities, and other assistance. We are especially grateful to Imrul,” he further added.
