Community Support: Lions Club Hosts Camp for Disabled in Garhwa

A complimentary artificial limb camp, coupled with a distribution initiative for tricycles, wheelchairs, crutches, and hearing aids, was recently conducted at Shaligram Madhya Vidyalaya Sonpurwa Garhwa. The Lions Club of Garhwa Green and the Shri Mahavir Viklang Seva Samiti collaborated to organise the event.

The Sub-Divisional Officer of Garhwa, Sanjay Kumar, officially opened the programme by lighting a traditional lamp.

Umakant Pandey, President of Lions Green, greeted the principal guest with flowers and commended Lions Green's community service endeavours, highlighting their outstanding work in assisting people with disabilities.

Amit Kashyap, the Project Chairman who also managed the event, mentioned that this marked the 11th camp organised by Lions Green for disabled individuals. To date, they have supplied over 1,200 disabled individuals with complimentary tricycles, wheelchairs, crutches, blind sticks, and walking sticks.

Harsh Agarwal, the Programme Co-Chairman, announced that the camp saw the distribution of 40 tricycles, 40 wheelchairs, 22 crutches, 9 walking sticks, and 15 hearing aids. Furthermore, measurements were taken for artificial limbs for 20 individuals, with fittings scheduled for the subsequent camp.

Dr H. K. Sahu from Ranchi significantly contributed to the event's success. Lions Green members, including Neeraj Kumar, Ravindra Jaiswal, Vinay Kashyap, Vijay Soni, Kusum Pandey, Ashutosh Agarwal, Santosh Agarwal, Amit Keshari, Anand Kumar, Arvind Gupta, Rajesh Agarwal, Amresh Azad, Leo Tejas Agarwal, Lokesh Kashyap, Ankesh Gupta Harshit, and Yash, also played vital roles.

Social worker Nandkumar Gupta, Anita Dutt, Dr Jawaharlal Agarwal, Ramnarayan Prasad, and approximately 200 patients and their relatives attended the event.
