Graduated with an advanced diploma from Sri Lanka School of Prosthetics & Orthotics (SLSPO) in 2012 followed by a Degree in Sirindhorn School of Prosthetics and Orthotics in Bangkok in 2017. I am currently working at Artificial Limb Care Pvt Ltd in Colombo in Sri Lanka.
What do you claim is your speciality - your O&P passion?
I think I can be as creative as possible by focusing on the prescription outcome.
What do you like most about practising O&P?
Defnitely the mental satisfaction from leading the patient journey to a positive outcome.
What frustrates you about O&P?
From my position in a private clinic in Sri Lanka there is not enough financial support from central government to assist our patients. Therefore I am limited to what technology I can offer as a clinician although my patients deserve the best.
How do you build rapport with patients in your care?
I believe that good communication is key and explain what and why we are doing it at each stage of the journey.
What is your greatest patient story in O&P?
I have been working with a patient for a long time who has lost both his arms and limbs due to electric shock. This has been a long difficult process but a satisfying one
